Ball Boy

Forthcoming Novel

Arun has been standing outside at the end of the drive, the sun beating relentlessly on his fair skin, for almost an hour before Bruce’s dark grey limousine pulls up. He’s red and running sweat but would never wait inside as Bruce doesn’t like delays. Arun’s trying not to feel irritated. He could have played another set with his wife Mel and their friends. He can hear their game going on without him on the court behind his house, his mood bouncing back and forth in time with the ball thwacking between racquets.
